My Story

Hey, there:) First things first, I'm all about smiley faces, so be warned. Also commas. And pretzels. And now you basically know everything about me.

But in case that didn't satisfy your curiosity, I come from a family of six: my parents, three brothers and me. Plus several dairy goats and two Russian Blue cats. The goats are named after an annual theme, anywhere from Greek gods and goddesses to rocks to cities; even Supreme Leader Snoke was (briefly) considered. The cats were supposed to be a dynamic UK soccer duo, but when they both ended up female, Chelsea got a Sochi instead of a Manchester for her partner in crime.

When I'm not laughing with my family or running around the yard with goats, I'm usually studying my life away in the belly of the beast library. I believe in the power of knowledge and applying it in meaningful ways to build bridges and to collaborate across spectrums of difference and even disagreement. I am currently studying English and hope to get into an educational policy master's program in the near-ish future.

I served an LDS 18-month mission in Rome, Italy. I love that place. I spent most of my time in the southwestern parts near the coast. It was a life-changing experience. I met and associated with the most incredible people who have blessed my life immeasurably. I also ate a lot of celestial-quality gelato;)

I love to write. Writing has always helped me to understand myself better. I also believe that it allows us to connect, whether we are writer or reader. Words forge bonds.

So welcome:) I hope what words I share here can have an uplifting and encouraging effect. What I've decided to share on this blog is just my own thoughts, but it's a topic I care a lot about, so if you have questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me! I'd love to hear from you. Keep smiling and remember that God loves you!
